Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the PTO?
A: The PTO is an all volunteer membership organization of parents and teachers of current PVN students. The PTO raises funds and performs a variety of services for the Centerville Primary Village North family.
Q: Extra Fundraisers Where does the money go?
A: •All money collected for membership and other fundraisers is spent on PVN students, the classrooms and neighborhoods, other building amenities, teacher appreciation, and landscaping.
•We fund class parties, field trips, teacher allotments, teaching aids, supplies, and enrichments.
•PVN staff members make needs requests each year, and parents receive the same opportunity to contribute ideas to improve the school.
•Final spending decisions are made by vote at PTO meetings.
Q: How is your membership fee spent?
A: •Your $10 dues enable the PTO to work with the school to bring educational, fun and enriching programs that are over and above what the teachers and staff already provide. Our goal is to help create an environment that fosters and strengthens the home & school relationship.
•Some of the programs offered by the PTO include supplementing district funds with financial support for classroom equipment and supplies; reading materials and library books; costumes and props; gym equipment; art, music and language supplies; a school directory; three class parties; Fall and Spring field trips and supplies for landscape beautification, as well as other suggestions that are made throughout the year.
•Monthly PTO meetings, open to all, are a forum for teachers/parents/members to learn, address and communicate about PTO activities as they relate directly to Primary Village North. Dues-paying members may make motions, nominate and vote during meetings.
•Those who wish to join the PTO may get involved at the level they feel most comfortable. Your volunteerism is what makes our PTO successful; however, we are respectful of your time. We appreciate any amount of it you are willing to give!
